President visits flood-affected makhallas
President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visits Syrdarya region in connection with an emergency at Sardoba Reservoir.
The Head of the state visited Navoi makhalla of Sardoba district, which was the first to be affected by the blow of the natural disaster.
Members of the Government Commission reported on measures taken to eliminate the consequences of the disaster.
The President visited the makhalla and directly got acquainted with the damage. He gave instructions on the thorough cleaning and disinfection of the territory, the provision of strict sanitary and epidemiological surveillance, the speedy and at the same time high-quality restoration of engineering and communication networks.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke with residents who returned home after the water retreated and noted that life in the affected localities will soon normalize, all kinds of assistance will be provided to people.
“In this difficult time, we are all with you. First, fire engines will pump water in each makhalla. We will consult with people on the issue of construction and repair, the construction of new houses. Farmers’ problems will be resolved with access to fields. Most importantly, you are alive and healthy, your children are with you. Keep calm. We ask the Almighty to support us, let it be the last thing we face”, the President said.
The Head of the state also visited Shodlik makhalla of Oqoltin district and Haqiqat of Mirzaabad district.
