President of Uzbekistan outlines new directions for strategic partnership with American business

Following the business program of his working visit to Washington, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with representatives of leading American companies, investment funds, and financial institutions.
The event was attended by U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, Special Assistant to the President Ricky Gill, Special Envoy for Global Partnerships Paolo Zampolli, U.S. Deputy Secretary of Agriculture Stephen Vaden, as well as heads of the American – Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce and top executives from major corporations including Traxys, FLSmidth, McKinsey, META, Google, Amazon, Boeing, Air Products, Axiom Space, Cove Capital, Freeport-McMoRan, Orion CMC, Cargill Cotton, John Deere, Honeywell, Valmont Industries, Flowserve Corporation, among others.


The Leader of Uzbekistan highlighted that over the past eight years, trade turnover with the United States has quadrupled, and more than 300 American companies are now successfully operating in Uzbekistan.
The President emphasized that the current level of cooperation is only the beginning of a new stage, opening broad prospects for joint efforts. He noted that during his upcoming meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, specific areas of economic cooperation and new joint initiatives will be discussed.


In his address, the Head of State outlined the priority areas of strategic partnership between the two countries.
By 2030, Uzbekistan plans to establish a next-generation energy system with 18-20 gigawatts of renewable capacity, with more than half of all electricity generated from solar and wind sources.


In this context, Uzbekistan and the United States will develop uranium, copper, tungsten, molybdenum, and graphite extraction and deep processing. Plans include building reliable supply chains and introducing advanced American processing technologies.
In addition, a large-scale program is being implemented to modernize highways, railways, terminals, and airports. More than $12 billion is planned to be allocated to transport infrastructure development by 2030.


Digital cooperation is expanding with American companies such as Google, Meta, and NVIDIA – including the implementation of payment systems like Apple Pay and Google Pay, the establishment of a Digital Academy, and the creation of a network of startup hubs.

It was noted that the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) and the Export-Import Bank of the United States will be engaged to promote and financially support such projects.
In conclusion, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reaffirmed his personal commitment to supporting investment initiatives by American companies, stressing that Uzbekistan remains a reliable partner and guarantor of success for foreign investors.
