President of Uzbekistan outlines priority areas of cooperation with the Export-Import Bank of the United States

On November 6, within the business agenda of his working visit to Washington, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the head of the Export-Import Bank of the United States, John Jovanovic.
The Export-Import Bank of the United States is the official export credit agency of the U.S. Government, supporting the foreign economic activities of American companies and offering insurance, guarantees, and loan instruments.

The prospects for expanding cooperation with this reputable institution to finance large-scale projects in energy, critical minerals, transport, agriculture, IT, and other priority areas, based on a jointly prepared program, were reviewed.

Particular attention was given to the bank’s involvement in modernizing the national airline's fleet and supplying Boeing aircraft. An agreement was reached to continue practical cooperation and develop a Long-Term Partnership Plan.
Following the meeting, in the presence of the Head of State, an agreement on financing joint projects was exchanged between the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Export-Import Bank of the United States.
