The Haihe River, which flows across the North China Plain, has long played a significant role in the history of the city of Tianjin. At its mouth, fortresses were built at various times to protect the capital.
The First Ladies toured these fortresses. A theatrical performance was also organized. The importance of preserving cultural heritage, traditional arts, and history was emphasized. All of this is a crucial factor in strengthening friendships and cooperation between people.
Against the backdrop of natural landscapes, the First Ladies discussed ways to strengthen friendly ties between the peoples of their countries.
On the same day, the First Lady of Uzbekistan visited Tianjin’s largest art and history museum. This cultural institution holds the status of a first-category museum in the People’s Republic of China. It has brought together exhibits from the former Historical Museum and the Museum of Art in its collection. Its new building includes exhibition halls, storage facilities, and research centers. The museum’s collection comprises about 218,000 items, and most of the exhibits are classified as “valuable cultural relics”.
The distinguished guest was presented with three main permanent exhibitions: “The Origin of Tianjin Culture”, “Tianjin-An Epitome of China in the Past Hundred Years”, and “Selected Rare Relics Collected by Tianjin Museum”, which highlight the historical significance of Tianjin and its history.
The museum’s collection features more than 60 sets of the most representative works of art, including ancient bronze, jade, calligraphy, and painting, as well as porcelain.
