The President of Uzbekistan and the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia discuss issues of further developing multifaceted cooperation
On the sidelines of the Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the Crown Prince, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud.
Current issues of further enhancing multifaceted relations between Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia were discussed.
The President of Uzbekistan emphasized the timeliness and relevance of organizing the extraordinary summit in Riyadh.
The ongoing intensive contacts and exchanges at various levels were noted with deep satisfaction. The volume of mutual trade and investment and the number of joint ventures are growing.
Promoting new joint projects, particularly in green energy, modernizing transport infrastructure, communications, the agricultural sector, and industry, was considered.
Particular attention was paid to preparing for upcoming high-level events, including the Second Summit of the Central Asia – Gulf Cooperation Council Dialogue in Samarkand in 2025.
At the meeting, the Leader of Uzbekistan expressed gratitude to the leadership of Saudi Arabia for the conditions created for Uzbekistan citizens to perform Hajj and Umrah.
Views were also exchanged on regional issues, including a peaceful settlement of the situation in the Middle East.
Thereupon, the President of Uzbekistan completed his working visit to Riyadh and departed for Baku.
