A meeting of the Presidents of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan
On September 15, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, who is in our country on a working visit to participate in the SCO Summit.
Expressing gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan for the traditionally warm hospitality, the President of Kyrgyzstan noted the large-scale construction work carried out in Samarkand.
The Presidents noted with satisfaction the positive dynamics of productive cooperation between the two countries, based on the principles of strategic partnership. The volume of mutual trade is growing dynamically, which has increased by 30% since the beginning of the year.
The joint cooperation projects are being implemented in industry, energy, agriculture and water management, and transport. The interregional and cultural-humanitarian exchanges are expanding.
A particular attention was paid to the importance of the early start of the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway and the Kambarata HPP-1, which will contribute to the development of the entire Central Asian Region.
There was an exchange of views on the schedule of upcoming contacts at the highest level, as well as the topical issues of regional and international politics.
