A substantial package of agreements aimed at strengthening strategic partnership and alliance with Kazakhstan has been signed

Following productive talks, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, signed a Joint Statement.
The heads of state also adopted decisions of the Supreme Interstate Council on establishing bilateral working groups on geology, extraction of rare and rare-earth metals, forecasting the water flow of transboundary rivers, and on the creation of the Council of Regional Heads of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
Several other documents were signed during the visit, including:
– Agreement on the joint management and rational use of transboundary water facilities;
– Agreement on the opening of representative offices of customs services;
– Agreement on the coordination of radio-frequency assignments used by civil terrestrial radio services in border areas;
– Agreement on conducting joint military exercises;
– Framework Agreement on the establishment of a joint investment platform;
– Joint Action Plan on cooperation in the field of tourism for 2026-2027;
– Cooperation Program between the Ministries of Justice for 2025-2026;
– Memorandum on the development of cooperation in the mining industry;
– Memorandum of Cooperation between the Agency for Youth Affairs of Uzbekistan and the public association “Assembleya Zhastary”;
– Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministries of Health on the provision of specialized medical care;
– Memorandum of Understanding between medical insurance funds;
– Cooperation Agreement between the Hokimiyat of Tashkent and the Akimat of Astana;
– Cooperation Agreement between the joint-stock companies Uzbekneftegaz and KazMunayGas.
