President visits the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia

As part of his official visit, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia.
It is worth noting that the Islamic Arts Museum is one of the largest museum collections in the country. Established in 1998, the museum is built in the traditional style of Islamic architecture and covers more than 30,000 square meters.
Uzbekistan artisans contributed to the interior decoration of the museum’s dome and restoration works.
The museum houses over 10,000 exhibits of Islamic art. Its permanent collection includes a unique selection of Quran manuscripts, ceramics, precious artifacts, weapons, architectural models, jewelry, numismatic objects, and more.
A special place in the museum’s collection is occupied by around 200 unique artifacts created during various historical periods on the territory of present-day Uzbekistan. These include medieval manuscripts, jewelry, the famous “abr” (ikat) textiles and traditional clothing, and ceramics from the Eastern Renaissance period.
While viewing the exhibits, the President of Uzbekistan emphasized the importance of conducting joint research, organizing exhibitions, and expanding scientific and cultural exchange.
