The President of Uzbekistan arrives in Malaysia

At the invitation of the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Anwar Ibrahim, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, arrived in Malaysia on the evening of February 4 for an official visit.
At Kuala Lumpur International Airport, the President of Uzbekistan was welcomed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Malaysia, Johari bin Abdul, Minister of Higher Education Zambry Abdul Kadir, and other officials.
In honor of the arrival of the Leader of Uzbekistan, a guard of honor was lined up, and the national flags of both countries were raised.
The President met at the airport with the Speaker of the Malaysian Parliament, during which they exchanged views on the agenda of upcoming high-level meetings.
Special attention was given to further active cooperation and exchanges at the parliamentary level, the organization of mutual visits and events of existing friendship groups, and practical collaboration on legislative activities. The discussions also focused on supporting the implementation of key investment, infrastructure, social, and cultural-humanitarian programs.
The main events of the visit are scheduled for tomorrow, February 5.
The President of Uzbekistan and the Prime Minister of Malaysia will hold high-level talks and participate in the Uzbekistan – Malaysia Business Forum. Several intergovernmental and interagency agreements are expected to be signed following the summit.
