Shavkat Mirziyoyev: An entrepreneur is the foundation of the economy, the support of the state
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Yangihayot Industrial Technopark in Tashkent.
Over 184 thousand people live in Yangihayot district. In recent years, many new residential buildings have been built here, where families have moved. Active measures are being taken to provide residents of new neighborhoods with jobs.
One of these measures was the Yangihayot technopark, created based on the resolution of the President of Uzbekistan of February 4, 2021. In 2022, Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the construction site and planned projects. 110 hectares of land have been allocated for the technopark. Eight enterprises have been commissioned with a total investment of $101 million, and 520 jobs have been created.
The President inspected the work of some enterprises.
For example, Almerro Group LLC produces confectionery products under the Krember brand. Three hectares of land have been allocated for this, and $22 million have been invested in the project. Modern equipment from Italy, Spain, and Türkiye has been installed. The company plans to produce 80 types of confectionery products worth 320 billion UZS annually, of which 15-20 percent will be exported to China and the CIS countries.
Vera Modern Electrical, which implemented a $21 million project, produces 600 types of cable and wire products. The company has an export potential of $4 million. In addition, 35-40 percent of the products are aimed at the domestic market, and the level of localization reaches 70 percent.
The President got acquainted with the products of the enterprises and noted:
“The conditions created for entrepreneurs in recent years are yielding results. Our businesspeople produce diverse and high-quality products. We will expand these opportunities annually. After all, an entrepreneur is the foundation of the economy and the support of the state”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized.
The Head of state also got acquainted with the project to construct finished buildings for production needs. The Mimar Group built a two-story complex in the technology park, which is being sold to small businesses and artisans on an installment plan. Each building is equipped with separate production and exhibition areas.
Four enterprises have begun work on such buildings, with a total investment of $3 million. They produce doors and windows, textile products, construction profiles, and solar panels.
The President was presented with plans for further developing the technology park. In particular, 46 projects worth $386 million are planned in areas such as the production of building materials, electrical engineering, logistics and services, and textile and food industries. Dual training will be introduced to train personnel.
By 2025, 37 projects worth $235 million are planned to be launched in the technology park, and by 2026, 1 project worth $50 million will be launched. As a result, 10,000 jobs will be created, and $35 million in export potential will be provided.
Over the past ten months, over 3,000 people have been employed in Yangihayot district, and 6,000 citizens have been registered as self-employed.
