Preliminary results of the elections to the Oliy Majlis have been announced
At a press briefing held by the Central Election Commission (CEC) and chaired by CEC Chairman Zayniddin Nizomkhuzhaev, the preliminary results of yesterday's parliamentary elections were announced, reports "Dunyo" news agency.
During the briefing, it was reported that 15,270,529 voters, or 74.72% of the electorate, participated in the election.
Under the proportional system, the distribution of votes and seats in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis was as follows:
- Movement of Entrepreneurs and Businessmen – Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan: 5,194,041 votes, securing 26 seats
- Milliy Tiklanish Democratic Party: 2,812,493 votes, securing 14 seats
- Ecological Party of Uzbekistan: 1,960,764 votes, securing 10 seats
- People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan: 2,558,016 votes, securing 13 seats
- Adolat Social Democratic Party: 2,420,857 votes, securing 12 seats
In the majoritarian system, seats were allocated as follows:
- Movement of Entrepreneurs and Businessmen – Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan: 38 deputies
- Milliy Tiklanish Democratic Party: 15 deputies
- Ecological Party of Uzbekistan: 6 deputies
- People’s Democratic Party: 7 deputies
- Adolat Social Democratic Party: 9 deputies
Overall, the Legislative Chamber's 150 seats were filled as follows: 64 deputies from the Liberal Democratic Party, 29 from Milliy Tiklanish, 21 from Adolat, 20 from the People’s Democratic Party, and 16 from the Ecological Party.
