A new system will include the solution to 12,000 issues raised by residents on the mahallas development
A meeting under the chairmanship of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on addressing systemic problems in mahallas continues.
A new system will be created, including the solution to 12,000 issues raised by residents in the development of programs for the improvement of mahallas and providing them with infrastructure.
The “Obod Qishloq” (Prosperous Village) and “Obod Mahalla” (Prosperous Neighborhood) funds were instructed to allocate 1.7 trillion UZS within a month to solve problems related to roads inside mahallas, drinking water and sewerage, electricity and gas supply, kindergartens, schools and sports facilities, landscaping, irrigation, street lighting and other issues in 4979 mahallas. Another trillion UZS will be allocated by the end of the year.
In the second half of this year, 9,201 mahallas participated in the Participatory Budgeting Project, 8 million residents voted for 38,000 projects (4,000 mahallas participated in the first half of the year). Residents of Fergana, Kashkadarya and Samarkand regions actively participated in this process. According to the voting results, 1,418 projects were recognized as winners, for which a trillion UZS were transferred.
The President emphasized the need for further expansion and popularization of the Participatory Budgeting Project. In this regard, an instruction was given to allocate an additional 335 billion UZS for the implementation of 364 projects that received more than 2,000 votes, but did not win.
Next year, an additional 200 billion UZS will be allocated to equip mahalla medical centers and family polyclinics, for which more than 200 residents voted. Thanks to this, residents of 600 mahallas will be covered as part of 195 projects.
